Good morning all! I hope that you had a great weekend and were able to enjoy the great temperatures that we had.

Last week, there was some discussion about trying to resurrect the Monday Family Ride that we used to have. Since I have a few families that have committed to give it a try, I wanted to send out an update to everyone.

Who is welcome? EVERYONE! Even if you don't have kids, come out and help "corral" those that ride with us. There is safety in numbers so we'd love to have you just come out and ride with us and enjoy the company. As we may have to cross traffic or be on "real" roads, you need to feel comfortable that your child can handle that. If they are still in the "training wheels" stage or maybe having difficulties with some of the hills, I would suggest sticking with the cement loop just in front of the main building at the NCRC.

When? For now, Monday night at 6:30 p.m. (May change depending on what's best for the group)

Where? Corner of Research Campus Dr. and Laureate Way (near the parking garage) at the NCRC in Kannapolis.

More Details? This is the ride to just come out and share in the fellowship, chat, and watch after the kids to make sure that they have a good time. It's also the chance to ride with your significant other if your significant other isn't into the 40+ mile sufferfest but can handle a few miles on the greenway! Feel free to wear the full kit, use the road bike, wear the clipless shoes but, if you have a "normal" bike and you want to wear shorts and a tee shirt; feel free!

The idea is to ride in and around the research campus as well as through the underpass over to the greenway and Baker's creek park. We should get in around 5 miles but, again, the mileage isn't what's important. It's letting the spouse and kids feel a part of the group and, hopefully, getting the next generation involved in cycling in a safe environment.

Helmets, as always, are required. I highly suggest gloves for the kiddo's as well and blinky lights if you have them.

So, 6:30 tonight in K-Town (weather permitting) and we'll see how this goes. Hope to see you there!
