[C4 Rides] AOMM Plans

For future reference, this appears to be the most direct route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4810522

There is a route with about 26 feet less climbing but it's 2 miles longer. Not a good trade off!

The route down to Barrier Store is using a few of our common roads. The ones to remember after that are: Right on 5 points and next left on Mission Church. Then Right onto Running Creek Church "at the top of the hill". Stay on that until you reach the school.

Averaging 17 Mph should take 1:15. Factor in at least 10 to 15 minutes for traffic and delays, that gives 1.5 hours for travel. Ride starts at 7:30 sharp. Need 15 minutes to sign up, donate $$, hit the facilities, etc. Total time is 1:45. That put's us leaving TRG at 5:45 am.

See all those already committed at 5:45. Anyone else that wants to ride; you now know the schedule! It should be the same for the rest of the rides...

Thanks!
Sean E

I've got both, but the wake up pill is not really a pill. LOL

I heard back from Scott and we'll make it 5:45 rollout from TRG. If anyone has any sleeping pills, let me know...must try to fall asleep before my usual 1am.

Sean, you have no excuse now! See you at TRG. :)

So it sounds like me, Scott, John, and maybe Sean are going to ride from TRG to Morrow and John will catch a ride with Charity back into town after AOMM.

As far as I can tell everyone's ok with 5:45 but we didn't actually decide on that vs 6:00. Is 5:45 rollout the plan?

I'm fine with the route Sean posted earlier.

If anyone needs a ride back that wants to bike down I can fit one bike and its human in my car. :-) I'll happily drop you off at TRG on my way home.

Sean, I can leave from TRG at 5:45 with you if you'd rather not hump it on the way down (I could use an easy hour to wake up!) I like the Cold Springs / Barrier Store route.

To those that were / are considering RIDING down... Assuming we ride the same route that we took last month and go about the same speed, it would take, easily, an hour and a half based on my Strava from last time. According to the web site, the start time will be 7:30 instead of 8:00. To get there in time to sign up, fill water, etc., I would think we would need to leave TRG at or before 5:45. Is that really feasible?

I might be able to go a hair faster than I did last time, but I'd rather not. We were all pretty tired on the trip back. Given that I would consider myself a good B rider (A- on a good day), I'll hitch a ride down if some solid A guys want to ride at a faster pace and still leave at 6:00.

Another option would be to change the route we had before. I could see a few changes that may make the ride down quicker by taking more major roads. At 6:00 / 6:30 traffic would probably not be an issue.

Here is our route from last month: http://www.strava.com/activities/134460548 Notice that route actually didn't go TO the school so I estimated.

O.K. folks, the floor is open for discussion...
