I’d probably be down for a Saturday Sherman ride.

I would be up for a MTB ride @ Sherman at 1 PM saturday. That gives me time to do the family thing in the morning at Fryes then make it back down in time...

This weekend is a weekend for hardcore riders! Highs on Saturday barely above freezing and highs on Sunday in the low 40s. At this time, the SAMBO ride hasn't been canceled as we don't usually cancel for cold weather. Having said that, a few folks are looking at trading in the slicks for shocks and knobby tires on Saturday instead of doing the SAMBO.

Nothing is 100% finalized yet, but a few folks were thinking about doing Sherman Branch on Saturday at some point after 12 noon. If you are interested, let us know and we'll include you on a separate email thread to try and hammer out the details. (I, Sean, am planning on doing this so you know that the MTB speeds may be slower!)

Also, another option for Saturday morning is to join the RRRC on their Polar Bear Metric: http://www.rockyriverroadclub.org/ At least two people have expressed interest in that (via Facebook) so, again, if you would like to do that ride, please let us know.

With both of those options in play, and the temperature being below freezing at 10:00 am on Saturday, the SAMBO ride may be very lightly attended. Having said that, if you'd like to ride SAMBO, let us know!

My goal is to make sure folks know their options and also to know that they will not be making a trip to ride alone.

So, lastly, there is the Flowe ride on Sunday. They are calling for clouds, but no rain. Right now we are looking at 43 degrees for the duration of the ride and calm winds. We've had a steady 6 to 12 (sometimes more) riders show up for Flowe almost every week even when the weather was cooler or rain threatened. Sunday has also been VERY good about staying together this year with A riders taking sprints or faster pulls but the B riders have been able to be only a minute or two behind so we keep it rolling pretty well. No need to respond here for Sunday's ride, but just know that we'd love to see you! If anything changes, keep an eye on Facebook (and Twitter) for updates.

By the way, did you know that you can check Facebook even if you are not a Facebook user? Sure, just look at the homepage of the club website and the feed is there! http://www.centralcarolinacycling.com/

All right folks, have a great Friday.
Sean E
