[C4 Rides] Rides and Communications update

Good afternoon everyone!  A few updates.

#1) Reminder:  With the time change, the SAMBO has moved back to 8:00 am still starting from The Right Gear.  However, the weather looks to be calling for 75% chance of rain in the morning so that ride is questionable at the moment.  We'll check the radar in the AM and make a definitive call at that point.  (50 degrees is pretty nice, so not too worried about the temps being a problem)

#2) Sunday's FLOWE ride at 2:00 PM looks very nice at the moment.

#3) Sigmon Swag Ride is updated on FB GROUP page as I write this and they are hoping to roll out at 8am on Saturday and Sunday.  If you ride with that group, I'm sure you already know where to look and how to get the latest info!

#4) To help with communication on rides and ride status, we are going to be putting an emphasis on updating the @C4Rides Twitter feed as our main and most timely (as in nearest to ride time) communication format.  Here's why:  when we update Twitter, it updates the (open to the public) facebook PAGE (but not the closed FB GROUP) AND we have it linked to our http://www.centralcarolinacycling.com web site.  So, that's 3 places that you can find updated ride status.  So, even if you are not on Twitter or Facebook, you at least have access to the website.  If you can't get to one of those 3 sites, let me know how to reach you!

#5) We'll still be using the Rides email list (and I encourage the rest of you to use it as well) as we have been doing.  And, we also have the club members only email list for specific club info and discussions.

#6) Having said ALL of the ways we have to communicate, if you EVER feel like you are being left out of a discussion, left off of a list, etc.  PLEASE tell an officer (Matt, Bruce, John, Sean).   If you want to be on an SMS text list, let me know your phone number and the individual ride(s) you are interested in, and I'll be sure you are at least on MY list.  It's not official, but since I'm usually the first to start a text thread, it'll probably cover you 99% of the time.  I'll make a rides list for SAMBO(sat), FLOWE(sun), TRAIN(tues), TRG(thurs), MTB(mountain biking).  Generally speaking, the only thing discussed is a count of who's in / who's out if the weather is questionable.  As long as I get a few folks committed to riding, THAT's when I'll update Twitter.  So, it's not like you are necessarily missing a lot if you are NOT on these lists.  BUT, if you are one that always wants to be in the know and know it early on, by all means, we'll add you to the list as well.  The MTB list may be of interest, though, as we do not currently have any "standing" MTB rides.  We will probably add some though as there are a few members that may replace the Flowe Ride as soon as the temps get too hot to hit the road at 2:00 in the afternoon.

So, there you go.  That's a pretty big update but, again, we are trying to be transparent as club leaders and as inclusive as we possibly can be.
