[Terrytaylor] Fwd: We stayed at Brent 's uncle Robert's home in Eugene he lives in a very hilly part of town my legs did not appreciate the extra climbing at the end of the day Robert is a very interesting person he was in the high-tech industry in Silicon Valley he was in a very high stress job he made a lot of money and retired at about 30 he moved to Eugene to get out of that area and Eugene being a much more relaxed town he collects Pulp Fiction and all the superhero books and magazines and LP records his walls on every floor are covered with bookshelves very neatly stacked with all his collectibles everything is in order we visited until early afternoon then left to find a bike shop there are many in Eugene I bought a handlebar extension to raise my handlebars having broken my neck it is difficult to look up causes pain so will try this we went to Walmart to stock up on energy bars and get fuel for the stove Eugene is a very friendly bike town many bike lanes and paths Brent is a good navigator and we didn't get lost once there is even a bridge over the river for bikes and foot traffic We left town a little late going to the county park to camp we found the campground full and the next campground over an hour away and it was getting dark so we tried. Warm showers so but no answer then Brent got on the Hotels.com and got a room a short distance away today we will work at getting many miles in yesterday we will call a rest day Well Brent is anxious to find breakfast so I will end for now Terry T
