When I left the campground I turned the wrong way and got way off course. I ended up in west Pueblo which was west and north of where I needed to be. I asked a walker and he confused me so bad he even said he was confused. I found a McDonalds and had breakfast and got my questions answered. I just needed to go down US50 for a few miles then go right on highway 47 which brought me back in town and on course. I wasted a lot of time and got a late start out of Pueblo. I went to Boone CO few residents
the grocery/hardware store is open 8to 5 I made it in time Nd asked where camping was. He told me across the side street. I went over to the small park and it was very green in an area that is quite brown. I walked back to the store and asked if the sprinklers will come on tonight. He said he didn't think so as they were on last night. I set up my tent
had a can of Campbell's chunky chicken something
I am getting used to eating out of the can cold. It does save money.
Well after I got my tent set up I put the rain covers on my panniers just in case. Well it rained and the wind blew fiercely and the sprinklers came on. The tent has extra tie downs which I hadn't used before. I had put them on and was glad I did. The wind was blustery and the tent held up. Now I am right across the street from the RR tracks which were very busy.
The trains blew their horns with much gusto
Then when I thought all had been visited upon me
Dogs started fighting outside my tent. I shouted for them to go away but they seemed undisciplined
They would run into the tent lines nd jolt the tent they were chasing one another around my tent!
The very day after I gave away my bear spray. They would rest I could hear them panting then they would start running around the tent. I have food in my panniers and I listened to tell if they were tearing into them. If they did I was ready to go after them with my short handled little plastic hammer I use to pound stakes in the ground. They were lucky as they left my
Stuff alone. Well maybe I was lucky.
I was tired and glad to leave in the AM with my wet tent.
I got an earlier than usual start and the weather was cool and little wind I made it thirty miles fine and decided to go for Haswell for the night. About 1:30 the wind came up but I was commuted and I continued. It was a workout but just practice for Kansas. I got to Haswell there is not much and nothing was open. I set up the tent in their little park don't know what else to do I have not seen one person. I ate my can of Campbell's chunky whatever I was carrying
Cold of course really not bad cold.
Well got to wash a shirt and socks at the faucet.
