Sent from my left the motel and headed west my motorcycle was not running right when I got to Marquette I went to the Harley dealership to have them look at it. Now you know that Harley people don’t care for other brands of bikes. I took a chance anyway so you understand what stress I was feeling Anyway they turned out to be nice people. I showed them how it wouldn’t idle and giving it a little gas just made it miss and stumble the mechanic said quickly turn it off and get off now the catalytic converter was red hot and it I about two inches from the rear tire which was in the process o smoking and starting to melt I moved the bike some to give a new place on the tire so it wouldn’t melt. They wrote up a ticket on it and I thought I would have to take out a loan to get my bike back. They checked the coils , the spark plugs they checked the catalytic converter and finally found one of the two throttle cables was in a bind as a fuel line from my second gas tank was up against it so they corrected that and I got out of the Harley place fo less than 100 dollars. My sons ride Harley’s and they say HD stands for 100 dollars minimum. I headed for Houghtonand Hancock and I got thoroughly drenched. It rained so hard I didn’t even see the campground i wanted to stay for the night but I finally found a wayside area and stopped and put on my rain gear which was difficult to put on over my wet clothes. When I came out the rain had of course stopped. I left the rain gear on as it was warmer than the wet clothes in the wind. I continued and didn’t find any more campgrounds. It was getting late I had gone through both cities. I stopped at a gas station for gas and info on campgrounds. I got directions to a campground that was off the main road. It was almost 10PM and I was concerned they would be closed. She was open and I got a spot for fifteen dollars a nite ,good deal so I stayed two nites got my laundry done and rode around some as it’s good to not be pulling the trailer. The place was run by the village, as I have found many of them are and usually a good deal I finally got back on the road and decided to make it to Ironwood. I got there and got a campsight at Curry Park run by the city. It was Fifteen Dollars a nite another good deal.
