Ride Rules

  • Helmets are mandatory. This is a deal breaker  no helmet, no ride
  • No earbuds, regardless of whether they are in use. If you think you can hear everything while using them.  You can't.  Don't do it.
  • Obey the laws & rules of the road.  Yes - stop signs.  Stop behind cars in the traffic lane, don't roll up along side a long line of cars only to make them pass you again down the road (unless there is a designated bike lane).
  • Do not run red lights.
  • Do not cross the yellow line. EVER.
  • If your bike has aero bars, stay off them.  Only exception is if you are more than 10 bike lengths away from another rider, front and back.  Why? Click Here
  • If you are at the front of the group, you are responsible for keeping the ride smooth & safe.  Call out road hazards such as gravel or potholes.
  • Use signals.  Right turn, left turn, slowing, road hazard.
  • Ride steady. Be obvious with your intentions and moves. Don’t cross wheels or stuff yourself into gaps.
  • Ride no wider than two abreast. Although we assert & defend our rights as cyclists, we try to minimize our impact on motorized traffic.
  • Respect your fellow riders.
  • Don't leave stragglers. These are group rides.  If your training plan is going to be messed up by taking care of someone, sorry, find another group.
  • Keep it fun.
  • Most of all, Don't Be A Jerk.
